Is there anything else that the media has found out to be false? Ever since the 90,000+ Documents were leaked, I've only heard this one story told over and over and over again - and it could very well be that wikileaks got this one wrong - but it doesn't mean that we should ignore the thousands of other things that have been talked about in these documents just because of one story that may or may not be false.

I heard someone say that the following two incidents where there were 4 casualties in each may have become confused. 2006, Sept. 3 - Sgt. Shane Stachnik, Warrant Officer Frank Robert Mellish, Pte. William Cushley and Warrant Officer Richard Francis Nolan killed in fighting in Panjwaii district. 2002, April 17 - Sgt. Marc Leger, Cpl. Ainsworth Dyer, Pte. Richard Green and Pte. Nathan Smith killed when U.S. F-16 fighter mistakenly bombed Canadians. http://www.theguardian.pe.ca/World/2007-11...HITS-LANDMINE/1 Given all the evidence that the 2006 incident is not friendly fire, this explanation makes sense. This discloses a major factual error in the wikileaks information and it makes all the rest look suspect. Knowing that this would precipitate an international firestorm, wikileaks should have taken more pains to vet the information before they put it on their website. In any case, it's too late now and damage control is in full swing. -------------------- "A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both" Dwight D. Eisenhower

Youtube Video ->
Original Video
Video of a previous Wikileak item showing US Soldiers in Iraq killing 2 Reuters Cameramen among others as well as injuring 2 children. Near the end of the video you will see a US Soldier say they have no idea how the children were injured...but at the 16:00 mark, the video zooms into the Apache's camera view where you can clearly see 2 kids sitting in the front of a van before the Americans shot at it repeatedly while it was trying to pick up the wounded cameraman before they "finished him off." http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/artic...HG_NPeGjgBBpFNg Soldier in Wikileaks video case transferred to USA Now folks, if we want to blame wikileaks or it's founder for having "blood on their hands" as many are saying right now we should keep in mind that even though these things have been hidden from our eyes up until these leaks - it has NOT been hidden from the eyes of Iraqis or Afghanis who are living this war and seeing these things around them every single day. If indeed we are throwing away inocent lives over there as if it is nothing - we can be sure that hatred for us (the West) will only grow and get worse and put our nations more and more at risk from people who wish to become radicalized as the report I posted in CM's Thread from the British Head of MI5 stated. |
